Inside vs. Out

Hit the basement for a 40K TT. Held an 85-90 cadence (it was on the big ring, middle gear for most of the time). Heartrate was in the 160s most of the time...and total time 58:37. Being on the bike for that long was hard - my body was not used to leaning over, and the seating is just not always ideal...it takes time to adjust in all the right places. God help me when it'll be 6-7 hours on the bike.

It seemed too quick for almost 25 miles, especially since I know a 25 mile route around Simsbury (a quite hilly one) takes me about 1:23. I know I pushed it today, but it just doesn't seem that same. So with that said, I'm looking forward to getting outside with some hills. While the trainer seems easier, time goes by so much more slowly than being outside and enjoying the scenery.

  1. Those outside hills come spring time will seem like nothing the way you are going on the trainer - send some speed my way, please :)
